Position Title: Institutional Policy Analyst Job Category: Academic Staff Employment Type: Regular Job Profile: Inst Policy Analyst I (Inst) Job Duties: The Institutional Policy Analyst investigates, researches, gathers, analyzes, and summarizes institutional data in support of information and research needs for planning and policy-making decisions. Provides management information, data analyses, and policy reports to inform strategic planning, decision-making, and resource allocation at the institutional level. **Full position description is available upon request. ** Key Job Responsibilities: Participates in establishing guidelines and procedures to ensure adequacy, quality, and reliability of information sources to ensure information systems and databases manage, store, and retrieve institutional data according to established policies, procedures, and reporting regulations Serves as liaison and primary contact to internal and external stakeholders for institutional reporting and compliance, external surveys, and institutional statistics and data Prepares and disseminates institutional statistical reports to institutional programs, working units, and leadership Designs, collects, analyzes, and researches institutional data according to established procedures and regulations Provides analysis and consultation on a variety of administrative-related matters Department: The mission of the Office of Institutional Research and Effectiveness is to provide a variety of data and analysis in a timely manner to support the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point’s decision-making, planning, accountability, evaluation, assessment, compliance, accreditation, and external reporting requirements while adhering to the Association for Institutional Research’s Code of Ethics and Professional Practice. Compensation: $65,000-70,000 annually, based on qualifications and experience Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a discipline involving data analysis or statistical analysis. Professional work experience related to investigation, research, gathering and analyzing data, data visualization and dashboards, BI tools, and/or supporting planning and policy-making decisions. Ability to work independently and collaborate with others. Strong quantitative and analytical skills. Working knowledge of standard business software programs and Business Intelligence tools (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Tableau, Power BI, etc.,) and the internet. Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience in institutional research and/or institutional effectiveness in higher education. Experience with Tableau, Microsoft Power BI, or other dashboarding software. Education: Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a discipline involving data analysis or statistical analysis.
