Job Details
Reporting to the CFO, the Controller is responsible for leading all GAAP and Statutory financial reporting requirements and managing all internal controls. We are looking for someone with a strong background in reinsurance accounting and a willingness to dig-in across multiple company financial functions to support next stage of company growth.
รย Actively manages and develops the Accounting Team
รย Maintains accounting policies, procedures, controls, and reporting
รย Responsible for accurate and timely recording of financial records
รย Develops and ensures adherence to controls delivering a strong culture of compliance and controls
รย Responsible for preparation and review of all GAAP and Statutory financial statements
รย Responsible for preparation and review of reinsurance statements and interactions including cessions and collateral
รย Coordinates and oversees auditors
รย Ensure compliance with all government regulations including taxes
รย Prepares and reviews general ledger entries
รย Reviews balance sheet reconciliations
รย Remain well-educated on all technical accounting topics
รย Protects operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential
Required Qualifications
รย Bachelorรยs degree in accounting or finance
รย 7+ years related experience
รย Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license
รย Reinsurance accounting experience
Highly Valued
รย Property and Casualty Insurance Program experience
รย Experience with Workday Financial Management
รย Keen ability to think and act strategically and tactically, planning for the long term while balancing the short-term needs of the organization.
รย Excellent leadership, strategic thinking, and relationship management skills
รย A proactive approach to identifying financial challenges, proposing solutions, and efficiently resolving issues
รย Capability to communicate complex financial concepts clearly to non-finance stakeholders
