Job Description

Quarto Publishing is seeking a Junior SQL Developer who loves turning data into insights. You’ll dive into database operations, optimize SQL queries, support reporting, and help keep our data accurate and secure.


Responsibilities

  • Develop efficient, reliable, and well-structured database queries using Microsoft SQL Server
  • Create, optimize, and maintain stored procedures
  • Support data integration processes for importing data into the Microsoft Dynamics GP system using eConnect, Integration Manager, and SQL stored procedures
  • Troubleshoot and resolve SQL code issues, providing recommendations and solutions
  • Assist with Microsoft Dynamics GP administration, including setting up new users and assigning access based on job roles
  • Maintain data accuracy and integrity across systems and databases
  • Develop and maintain reports using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)
  • Follow best practices for database design, development, and data security
  • Collaborate with development and cross-functional teams to improve processes and system performance

Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Management, Business Intelligence, or a related field — or equivalent work experience
  • 1–2 years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server and writing complex SQL queries
  • Ability to create optimized database queries, including joins and cross-references between multiple tables
  • Familiarity with database management tools such as SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS)
  • Understanding of database concepts, stored procedures, and data normalization
  • Knowledge of data exchange protocols with internal and external systems, including web services, JSON, and XML
  • Strong analytical thinking and troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities
  • Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Desire to learn and grow technical skills, with an interest in root cause analysis and problem-solving
  • Proficiency in T-SQL and Microsoft SQL Server
  • Experience with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
  • Exposure to ERP systems, preferably Microsoft Dynamics GP
  • Basic understanding of database performance tuning
