Job Description
We are looking for a researcher with a strong academic background to collaborate with us on an exploratory research project using a synthetic population model.
Our platform simulates a population of the US with 10,000 richly detailed synthetic individuals generated from real census distributions. Each individual has demographic attributes and contextual characteristics that allow researchers to explore patterns, behaviors, and interactions within a realistic but privacy-safe environment.
We are seeking someone with advanced academic background, ideally a PhD or doctoral candidate in economics, sociology, computational social science, or a related field, who is interested in designing and conducting research using this dataset.
Possible directions could include studying how individuals might form relationships within the simulated population, how different demographic groups respond to hypothetical news or events, or how opinions and behaviors might propagate across the population. The specific research topic can be discussed and refined together.
The goal of this collaboration is to develop a rigorous research project that can lead to an academic publication.
We provide the platform, the synthetic population infrastructure, and technical support. The researcher would help frame the research questions, design the methodology, run analyses or experiments within the model, and contribute to writing the final paper.
Budget to be discussed.
