Position: Microsoft Teams Architecture Consultant

Location: REMOTE within Texas - CT hours required

Duration: 4-16 weeks (extensions through Q3 as needed)

Hours: Monday-Friday - flexibility to work 20-40/hours a week depending on project need

Pay Rate: $90-95/hour (depending on experience)

    Must-Have Qualifications:
  • Proven Migration Experience: Completed multiple Webex → Teams migrations (hands-on, not theoretical)
  • End-to-End Deployment: Demonstrated experience with full UC migration lifecycles
  • Voice & Teams Expertise: Deep technical knowledge across voice systems, Microsoft Teams, and unified communications
  • Teams Phone Specialist: Advanced experience with Microsoft Teams Phone implementation and troubleshooting
  • Licensing Expert: Strong understanding of Microsoft 365 licensing models, particularly Teams Phone complexities
  • Continuity Commitment: Available for consistent engagement throughout entire implementation (same resource)
  • Technical Focus: Pure technical expertise without sales or alternative solution agendas
    Preferred Qualifications:
  • Municipal or utility sector migration experience
  • Microsoft certifications (Teams, Office 365, Azure)
  • Experience with government compliance requirements
  • PowerShell scripting for Teams administration
  • Network troubleshooting and optimization skills
  • Previous knowledge transfer and mentoring experience

Overview:

    Lead the technical migration from Cisco Webex to Microsoft Teams for approximately 500 users. Provide hands-on expertise, knowledge transfer, and strategic guidance to ensure a smooth transition while avoiding common deployment pitfalls, particularly around licensing and troubleshooting. Key Responsibilities:
  • Migration Leadership: Guide end-to-end Webex to Teams migration using proven "wrapper approach" methodology
  • Technical Architecture: Design and implement Teams Phone integration with existing Webex infrastructure during transition phases
  • Knowledge Transfer: Mentor internal team through hands-on working sessions to build long-term capability and confidence
  • Licensing Strategy: Validate and optimize Microsoft Teams Phone licensing requirements and identify additional phone licensing needs
  • Risk Mitigation: Proactively address common migration issues, particularly licensing complexity and call troubleshooting
  • Implementation Support: Focus on "low-hanging fruit" deployment strategies to reduce risk and complexity in Phase 1
  • Technical Guidance: Provide hands-on support (not theoretical consulting) throughout the migration process
  • Solution Ownership: Ensure team can independently manage Teams environment post-implementation
    IG Consultants: While on contract, you will be an Insight Global employee working for a particular company/end client on W2.
  • Pay Day: You will be paid out each Friday and one week in arrears. This means you will receive payment for this week’s hours next Friday.
  • Holidays/Time Off: While a consultant through Insight Global, the hours you work are the hours you will be paid. We do not offer paid sick days, paid time off, or paid holidays, except as required by applicable law.
