Part-Time WordPress Developer + Client Support Specialist (U.S.-Based) ~20 hours per week

We are looking for a U.S.-based WordPress developer who is comfortable working directly with clients and helping manage support requests. This role blends development work with client communication and product support.

The position is approximately 20 hours per week and requires availability between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Mountain Standard Time. We are flexible within that window and can coordinate hours that work best for both sides.

You will work alongside another team member who helps manage support, but does not have a development background. Your role will focus on handling the technical aspects of support tickets while clearly communicating with clients.

    Responsibilities
  • Manage and resolve WordPress-related support tickets for our clients
  • Perform small development fixes, updates, and troubleshooting within our custom WordPress themes
  • Clearly communicate with clients via email and support tickets regarding issues and solutions
  • Provide screenshots, screen recordings, or short walkthrough videos when helpful for explaining solutions
  • Follow our internal support documentation and processes for handling requests
  • Learn our product functionality so you can help guide clients through settings, features, and configurations when needed
  • Collaborate with our internal team when a request requires additional development or investigation
  • Escalate more complex development tasks appropriately

Qualifications

    We ask that you are proficient developing in WordPress (both frontend and backend) using modern tools/workflow listed below:
  • β€œClassic” WordPress theme development (required β€” no page builders)
  • JavaScript
  • HTML / CSS
  • SASS / SCSS
  • Flexbox / Grid / modern CSS layout techniques
  • Deep understanding of the CSS cascade
  • PHP
  • Advanced Custom Fields (ACF)
    Bonus experience:
  • Object Oriented Programming
  • PSI Optimization
  • NPM
  • Vite

Communication Skills

Because this role involves client interaction, strong communication skills are essential.

    You should be comfortable:
  • Writing clear and professional client responses
  • Explaining technical concepts in simple language
  • Providing visual walkthroughs using screenshots or short videos
  • Helping guide clients through product settings or functionality

All client communication is handled through email and our support system.
