About the position Road Ranger, a growing multi-state travel center company, is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll & Benefits Data Entry Clerk to join its Payroll Department! The Payroll & Benefits Data Entry Clerk will be responsible for the daily data entry of new hires, employee changes, benefits, separations, verifications, and any other date entry required in the Company’s store-level payroll and benefits systems. This position will also provide outstanding internal service to store-level employees in their payroll and benefit needs. Responsibilities β€’ Execute the timely and accurate processing of all data entry weekly for all store employees, including the data entry of new hires, separations, ADP assistance and payroll changes. β€’ Assist with distribution of benefit information and data entry of employee enrollment and terminations to include notification of information to carriers. β€’ Respond to external requests and demands such as employment verifications, garnishments, and other payroll and benefit related items. β€’ Provide outstanding internal service with employee questions and problem resolution. β€’ Special projects and other duties as needed. Requirements β€’ Relevant work experience and/or college degree in Accounting, Payroll, or similar field required. β€’ Proficiency in Data Entry. β€’ Proficiency in Microsoft Suite Products including Word and Excel. β€’ Highly professional and ethical with uncompromising morals and integrity β€’ Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to work under pressure prioritize and handle multiple competing tasks and demands simultaneously β€’ Ability to maintain strict levels of confidentiality β€’ Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions under pressure β€’ Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain internal and external relationships β€’ Must have the ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, and laws related to employment activities β€’ Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to communicate professionally and effectively in person, on the phone, electronically or through other means to individuals or groups β€’ This position will require a minimum of 3-4 days in office at our Schaumburg, IL office. Nice-to-haves β€’ Experience with payroll processes is a preferred, but not required.
