The Product Filing Specialist role involves drafting annuity contract language, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and collaborating with various departments to facilitate product approvals.
Responsibilities
- Learning all functional aspects of the team
- Gaining an understanding of filing requirements to enable preparation of filing strategies and comprehensive estimates; performing research related to filings in order to ensure applicable requirements are being met; ensuring that forms are compliant and all supporting documentation is identified and completed appropriately before submitting
- Coordinating with direct team management, Contract Analysts and Implementation Specialists to ensure all forms are installed in administrative systems as approved and in accordance with product specifications
- Collaborating with business partners to ensure filings and forms are compliant and meet business needs
- Submitting contract forms to insurance departments using an electronic filing system and working with insurance regulators to obtain product approval in a timely manner
- Providing research, documentation, and communications about regulatory requirements
- Developing and maintaining reference materials related to filing requirements, experience, approvals, and other topics as needed to support the business
- Supporting the business on regulatory audits and examinations
Skills
- Experience in the life insurance, annuity, or financial services industry preferably supporting regulatory, compliance, legal, operational and/or contract filing areas
- Bachelor's degree or work equivalent
- Must know Microsoft suite of products with demonstrated proficiency in Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Impeccable attention to detail, organization skills, and follow-up skills
- Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills – ability to understand impacts of simple to complex concepts
- Demonstrated ability to effectively multi-task in a fast-paced environment and adhere to deadlines; excellent time management skills required
- Ability to work proactively and self-sufficiently on assigned tasks
- Capable of working independently and/or as part of a team
