Job Description
Ryan Companies is seeking a Project Engineer for their Minneapolis office, where the role focuses on assisting the project team in completing designated projects while learning company processes and procedures. The Project Engineer will engage in various tasks including generating RFIs, monitoring shop drawings, and participating in project scheduling.
Responsibilities
- Help generate Requests For Information (RFIs) and track approvals
- Monitor and maintain shop drawing log and shop drawing coordination
- Learn project dimensional control requirements while field verifying dimensions to back check the shop drawing approval process
- Assist in the coordination and tracking of Vendor and Subcontractor deliveries
- Learn Ryan Safety Policies and Procedures
- Gain an understanding for overall site logistics
- Participate in and gain an understanding of the city and jurisdictional permit inspection process
- Keep office and jobsite plans updated with RFIs and ASIs
- Accompany Ryan personnel (and Owner) on Punchlist inspections, record Punchlist items and monitor completion of Punchlist work
- Participate in preparing and updating the project schedule
Skills
- Knowledge of estimating techniques, cost control, and material pricing
- Bachelor's degree in a construction-related field
- Able to perform mathematical calculations, understand architectural and engineering drawings, purchase orders, contracts, and cost-coding systems
- Able to assume responsibility, interface & communicate effectively
