The Client Development Associate plays a crucial role in the onboarding process for new clients, ensuring a seamless transition from initial agreement to official client status while collaborating with the Wealth Management Team.
Responsibilities
- Onboarding new clients to Mercer Advisors efficiently and professionally to ensure better client retention
- Partner with the Regional Vice President (RVP) to manage new client onboarding from initial agreement to becoming an official client
- Execute the Three-Part New Client Onboarding Process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Prepare, send, and process all required client paperwork and documentation
- Set up new clients across all Mercer systems and maintain accurate records
- Create and manage onboarding checklists to track progress and ensure completion of all steps
- Monitor custodian platforms to confirm account linking, funding, and transfers are completed promptly
- Proactively follow up with custodians to resolve issues and prevent delays in the onboarding process
- Facilitate smooth hand-off to the Wealth Management Team (WMT) by introducing the client and providing a completed onboarding checklist
- Drive Price Modification Request process and ensure compliance documentation is delivered to clients
- Track and secure additional assets and opportunities during the first year of the client relationship, including running Fi360 attestations for new retirement assets
- Ensuring adherence to company standards
- Other duties as needed
Skills
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Prior financial services or related administrative support experience
- Sales experience highly preferred
- Series 65 or combination of Series 7 and 66 license preferred; will be required to obtain the Series within first 6 months of employment
- Understanding of the financial services industry
- Strong analytical, organizational and presentation skills
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Experience working with high-level, busy professionals
- Must work well in a team environment and present a positive and professional demeanor
- Self-starter, active contributor and ability to listen to and deliver on client's needs and expectations
- Must be highly flexible and confidential with all matters
- Ability to occasionally travel (to both channel partner offices and prospects')
