Job Title: Remote COBIT Implementer - Cybersecurity & IT Governance (100% Work From Home)

Location: Remote from Latin America

Position Type: Full-time

Salary:$3,000 - 3,500 USD/month depending on experience

Schedule: Monday-Friday, business hours Panama Time Zone

Job Overview:

The COBIT Implementer will be responsible for supporting the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of the IT Governance and Cybersecurity framework based on COBIT 2019 principles. This role ensures alignment between business objectives, IT strategy, and cybersecurity controls, providing a structured approach to governance, risk, and performance management across all technology domains.
The COBIT Implementer will work closely with the GRC Senior Manager, IT Leadership, and Cybersecurity teams to assess current governance maturity, define target states, and implement processes and metrics that enhance accountability, control ownership, and compliance with enterprise governance standards.

    Responsibilities:
  • Lead the implementation and institutionalization of COBIT 2019 across cybersecurity and IT functions, ensuring integration with all existing frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST CSF, and CRQ).
  • Develop and maintain a COBIT governance model defining roles, responsibilities, and accountability across the IT and cybersecurity domains.
  • Conduct maturity assessments of current IT governance processes and define action plans to improve alignment with business and risk objectives.
  • Map COBIT governance objectives (EDM, APO, BAI, DSS, MEA) to existing cybersecurity and IT processes to identify overlaps and optimization opportunities.
  • Develop performance indicators (KPIs/KRIs) for governance and risk processes to measure effectiveness and maturity progress.
  • Conduct training sessions and workshops to raise awareness of COBIT governance principles and implementation best practices.
  • Collaborate with enterprise risk, compliance, and IT operations to ensure a unified governance model and consistent reporting structure.
  • Advise on COBIT adoption roadmap, prioritizing high-impact processes and scalability across multiple markets.
  • Qualifications, Skills and Key Competencies:
    Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, IT Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience implementing IT governance frameworks within medium to large enterprises.
  • Proven expertise aligning COBIT with ISO 27001and NIST CSF frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity governance, IT service management (ITIL), and risk management processes.
  • Experience conducting governance maturity assessments and implementing improvement roadmaps.
  • Certified COBIT 2019 Design & Implementation or COBIT 5 Implementation certification (ISACA). - strongly preferred but also open to someone who has the experience in a similar role
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in English and Spanish.
  • Preferred:
  • Additional certifications: CISA, CRISC, CGEIT, or ISO 27001 Lead Implementer.
  • Experience with telecommunications, finance, or regulated industries.
  • Familiarity with GRC tools such as Archer or AuditBoard for governance tracking.
  • Ability to facilitate workshops and governance alignment sessions across technical and executive teams.
