Job Description
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. The Military Child Education Coalition (MCEC) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting military-connected children. They are seeking a detail-oriented freelance marketing coordinator to support their marketing operations by producing content, managing digital assets, and ensuring marketing workflows are maintained.
Responsibilities
- Content Production
- Minor edits and copyedits to marketing materials (text updates, formatting, brand consistency)
- Upload and optimize videos to YouTube with proper descriptions, tags, and metadata
- Copyedit social media posts, email campaigns, and website content
- Design Support
- Simple design edits in Canva (text adjustments, image swaps, date updates, resize for platforms)
- Maintain and organize MCEC's digital asset library
- Marketing Operations
- Track and log marketing requests in Asana
- Schedule social media posts per approved content calendar
- Coordinate routine deliverable handoffs with MCEC's external marketing agency
- Support email campaign setup and deployment in Mailchimp
Skills
- Demonstrated experience in marketing, communications, or a related field
- Strong writing and editing skills with high attention to detail
- Proficiency in Canva; Adobe Creative Suite a plus
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent deliverables independently
- Comfortable learning new platforms quickly
- Reliable internet and ability to work to agreed-upon deadlines
- Experience with social media management tools (Hootsuite, Buffer, or similar)
- Experience with YouTube or video content management
- Familiarity with Asana or similar project management tools
- Experience with Mailchimp or similar email marketing platforms
- Connection to military families or passion for education equity
