The Lab Services Procedure & Training Document Developer will lead the analysis, design, and development of business processes to support a new Blood Management System, focusing on process improvements and compliance with regulatory standards. Responsibilities β€’ Lead Task analysis activities (aka process improvements and gap analyses between current processes and the desired to-be state), design new complex Lab Services (IRL and HLA) processes and procedures for Lab Services execution staff, and lead transition planning β€’ Develop written procedures and training documentation for Lab Staff including collaborating with training development vendor, CGS β€’ Develop User Validation plans and lead UV events (as required) β€’ Support the business unit process re-engineering plans β€’ Support implementation activities β€’ Support clinical laboratories performing blood grouping, typing, tissue testing, and cross-matching for transfusions β€’ Provide direct patient care services aligned with clinical practice and under the direction of a medical director β€’ Conduct compatibility testing for organ and bone marrow transplants β€’ Diagnose and manage HLA-related diseases β€’ Ensure patient and donor samples are uniquely identified and tracked throughout testing β€’ Document test results in compliance with regulatory requirements β€’ Perform tests and interpret results using approved, licensed kits per applicable regulations β€’ Select, design, validate, and maintain automated systems to support testing functions β€’ Develop and maintain procedures that uphold accuracy and regulatory standards β€’ Evaluate application and process changes objectively, using a lean engineering approach to drive future-focused improvements β€’ Identify opportunities for efficiency and innovation without institutional bias Skills β€’ Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Science, Business, Engineering, or a related field β€’ Six Sigma certification highly desired β€’ Minimum 7 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and related biomedical experience β€’ Experience working in an agile environment, with iterative review and documentation updates β€’ Proven ability to manage tasks across cross-functional teams and departments β€’ Prior experience working in a 100% remote environment, collaborating effectively via Teams and SharePoint β€’ Proficient in Teams sites and SharePoint using shared files (not local storage) β€’ Highly skilled in MS Word (templates), PowerPoint, Visio, and related tools β€’ Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, including experience working with and analyzing large data sets β€’ Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to convey changes clearly to diverse audiences β€’ Ability to work under stringent deadlines and adapt to evolving priorities β€’ Available to travel for user validation events during the project (typically 5–7 business days per event) β€’ Ability to work East Coast hours as needed β€’ Familiarity with Instructional Design Development (IDD) format and SmartSolve (a plus) β€’ Will receive training in System 3 (Quality) as a Process Design Specialist for Procedure and Training Documentation Development Benefits β€’ Medical, Dental Vision plans β€’ Health Spending Accounts & Flexible Spending Accounts β€’ PTO: Starting at 15 days a year; based on type of job and tenure β€’ Holidays: 11 paid holidays comprised of six core holidays and five floating holidays β€’ 401K with up to 6% match β€’ Paid Family Leave β€’ Employee Assistance β€’ Disability and Insurance: Short + Long Term β€’ Service Awards and recognition Company Overview β€’ American Red Cross is a humanitarian organization whose purpose is to meet the immediate disaster-caused needs of people and communities.
