Job Description
We are sharing a specialised part-time consulting opportunity for Litigation Associates with strong legal research and writing experience. This role supports a leading AI research lab developing evaluation benchmarks designed to test advanced AI systems on realistic legal research tasks.
Experts in this role will contribute to a dataset of high-quality practitioner-level legal research questions reflecting issues that arise in active litigation matters.
Key Responsibilities
Draft well-scoped legal research questions arising in litigation contexts
Develop realistic issues related to motions practice, procedural disputes, and evidentiary matters
Frame research tasks requiring identification and synthesis of controlling authority
Design scenarios involving jurisdictional analysis and precedent interpretation
Create questions requiring application of case law to factual situations
Ensure all research tasks mirror real practitioner-level legal work rather than academic hypotheticals
Ideal Profile
Strong candidates may have:
4–7+ years of law firm experience in litigation practice
Strong background in substantive legal research and precedent analysis
Experience drafting research memoranda, briefs, or dispositive motions
Familiarity with jurisdiction-specific legal authority and case law
Clear, structured, and precise legal writing skills
Preferred qualifications:
Federal clerkship experience
Background in appellate or complex litigation
Experience contributing to legal tech, AI, or dataset development projects
