BCforward is seeking a highly motivated ML Engineer (Computer Vision) for a project focused on digitizing wildlife tracking skills through mobile AI deployment. The role involves building web and smartphone applications to capture wildlife evidence and developing ML models to identify species from images. Responsibilities • Build web and smartphone apps for users to capture images of wildlife evidence/signs and upload it to the AI-enabled backend for it to identify the species that the image belongs to • Build ML models that, given images of evidence/signs left behind by various species in the wild (e.g., a footprint in the mud), can identify the species that the evidence belongs to • Maintain a database of identified/labelled images which can be used to continually improve our ML models Skills • Front end web development (Django, React, Node.js, etc.) • Android and/or iOS app development • Backend development (experience with Python, Docker, data/database management and linking it to the front end) • ML experience/knowledge would be a plus (TensorFlow, PyTorch, model serving through Kubernetes, Kubeflow, KFServing, TensorRT, etc.) Company Overview • BCforward is an information technology consulting and staffing firm.
