Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. The UVA VEC is seeking Operating System experts for a high-impact AI data collection project aimed at enhancing AI systems' understanding of software workflows and user interfaces. This flexible, remote role involves generating training data by recording and annotating real interactions with operating systems and software tools.
Responsibilities
- Record screen sessions demonstrating real-world workflows with clear step-by-step narration
- Annotate screenshots by identifying and marking key UI elements using bounding boxes
- Follow structured instructions to recreate specific software states and workflows
- Use specialized tools to capture accurate and consistent data
- Ensure all outputs meet strict quality and formatting guidelines
Skills
- Strong familiarity with one or more operating systems: Windows, macOS, Linux
- High attention to detail and ability to follow structured instructions precisely
- Comfortable working independently and meeting deadlines
- Access to a physical Mac device (required)
- Ability to create and manage clean system environments when needed
- Experience with data annotation, QA, or content evaluation
- Prior experience recording workflows or creating technical documentation
- Comfortable adapting to new tools and structured environments
