- Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and refine 3D game and simulation features using Panda3D
- Develop custom tools and gameplay systems that enable flexible scripting and system control
- Collaborate with developers, artists, and researchers to translate requirements into maintainable code
- Optimize performance across diverse hardware and deployment environments
- Contribute to all phases of development from prototyping to release and ongoing maintenance
- Communicate technical concepts clearly in written and verbal formats
- Stay current on Panda3D advancements and development best practices
- Skills
- Hands-on experience with Panda3D for interactive 3D application or game development
- Proficiency in Python or C++ for scripting, gameplay logic, and tool development
- Strong understanding of 3D graphics concepts, game loops, and simulation architectures
- Ability to build adaptable systems and tools for varied use cases
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong collaboration ability
- Ability to work autonomously in a remote, distributed environment
- Track record of delivering high-quality code and creative 3D solutions
- Experience developing 3D applications for research, simulation, or indie game production
- Familiarity with agile methodologies and version control systems such as Git
- Involvement in the Panda3D or open-source development communities
