Job Description

Cohesity is a leader in AI-powered data security and management, seeking early-career Software Engineers to join their Generative AI engineering team. The role involves contributing to the development of AI-powered features, building backend services and APIs, and integrating Large Language Models into customer-facing experiences.

Responsibilities

Contribute to the development of Generative AI-powered features across Cohesity products
Build and enhance backend services and APIs that support AI-driven workflows
Assist in integrating Large Language Models (LLMs) into customer-facing experiences such as copilots and intelligent search
Work with engineers and product teams to develop AI solutions using enterprise data securely
Support retrieval-based AI systems (RAG) by helping improve indexing, embeddings, and data pipelines
Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code in a fast-paced Agile environment
Debug and troubleshoot issues across distributed systems and AI-enabled services
Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and team collaboration across global engineering groups
Learn best practices for scalability, performance, and responsible AI development

Skills

Bachelor's or Master's degree in AI, Mathematics, Computer Science or related field (or equivalent practical experience)
Strong programming fundamentals in one or more languages such as: Python, Java, Go, or C++
Familiarity with software engineering concepts such as data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented design
Interest or academic exposure to Generative AI and Machine Learning, including: Large Language Models (LLMs), Prompting techniques, Embeddings and semantic search, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) concepts
Understanding of cloud and distributed system basics (AWS, Azure, GCP is a plus)
Strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn new technologies
Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
Passion for building high-quality, scalable, customer-focused products
