Overview: NIWC Atlantic Software Services requires ISHPI to provide emerging Department of Defense (DoD) and Department of Navy (DON) information technology, to design, develop, engineer, and maintain systems that will improve customer organizational efficiency. ISHPI provides support in the areas of Administrative Services, Applications Integration Management, Corporate Strategy Planning and Execution, Information Assurance (IA), Information Resource Management, and Information Technology (IT) Operations. Further task includes new standards engineering, prototype installation, application development, data interoperability, system design, system management and maintenance, data collection, analysis, and other management and implementation efforts in support of data translation, data mediation, and data mapping. Responsibilities: ISHPI Information Technologies is seeking a skilled and experienced System Administrator to support their Software Services IPT contract. This position supports critical infrastructure and software development lifecycle. The candidate shall possess a strong background in system administration, combined with a forward-thinking approach to automation, continuous integration, and continuous delivery (CI/CD). They will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing our operational environment, ensuring the security, reliability, and efficiency of command systems. This role requires a blend of technical expertise across traditional and modern IT practices, with a focus on supporting all aspects of DevSecOps. Responsibilities: • Perform daily configuration and operation of business systems, including system backup and recovery. • Install, configure, and troubleshoot hardware, software, and networks. • Manage and secure network operating systems on GovCloud servers, with a focus on Linux and Oracle databases. • Experience managing and configuring ServiceNow and Appian frameworks. • Monitor system performance, conduct capacity analysis, and optimize resource utilization. • Maintains system readiness through the implementation, administration, and management of DoD IAVAs, DoD IAVBs, MTOs, CTOs, Vulnerability Scanning and Remediation, DISA STIGs, and other related DoD policies on all related systems • Identify, assess, and mitigate system vulnerabilities. • Provide automated and manual validation of Information Assurance Controls. • Support the development and documentation of risk assessments and mitigation strategies. • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitLab or Jenkins. • Automate configurations and deployments within Kubernetes and other container orchestration platforms. • Collaborate with development, engineering, and security teams in an Agile environment. • Provide technical support and assistance to developers and end-users. • Create and maintain technical documentation for systems, processes, and services. • Supports configuration management efforts and documentation support including, but not limited to creation and updating required documents (e.g. requirements traceability matrix, impact analysis checklists) as required using a Versioning Control System for documentation • Communicates orally and in writing, in meetings, working groups and project reviews with representatives at all levels of organizations • Enters data center support tickets as needed and coordinates with the NIWC data center support team Qualifications: Education: BS accredited degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or other related discipline. Experience: At least seven (7) years of related experience as an experienced System Administrator with a strong background supporting mission-critical infrastructure and software development environments within DoD and Navy programs. Demonstrated expertise in maintaining secure, reliable, and high-availability operational environments while supporting the full software development lifecycle and DevSecOps initiatives. Proven ability to perform daily system administration functions, including configuration management, system monitoring, backup and recovery, hardware and software installation, and network troubleshooting across enterprise and GovCloud environments. Skilled in managing and securing Linux-based systems, Oracle databases, and network operating systems, with hands-on experience administering platforms such as ServiceNow and Appian. Adept at implementing DoD cybersecurity and compliance requirements, including IAVAs, IAVBs, CTOs, MTOs, DISA STIGs, vulnerability scanning, remediation, and automated/manual validation of Information Assurance controls. Experienced in conducting risk assessments, identifying vulnerabilities, and implementing mitigation strategies to maintain system security and operational readiness. Strong background in supporting modern DevSecOps practices, including building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitLab and Jenkins, automating deployments through Kubernetes and container
