Job Description

Booz Allen Hamilton is seeking a Systems Engineer to work with colleagues and government clients from various DoD and other agencies. The role involves performing systems engineering, planning space and ground system acquisition programs, and providing technical expertise to ensure compliance with security protocols and government requirements.


Responsibilities

  • Work with Booz Allen colleagues and government clients from various DoD and other government agencies to perform systems engineering and plan space and ground system acquisition programs
  • Help the military integrate the GPS system User Equipment across a large stakeholder community
  • Provide technical subject matter expertise to determine Air Worthiness and ensure relevant security protocols are being met
  • Develop and enforce GPS User Equipment Security Certification processes and procedures
  • Evaluate acquisition documents to ensure compliance with government requirements, processes, and policies
  • Provide acquisition expertise and counsel to government acquisition offices

Skills

  • Experience with development or evaluating aviation software
  • Experience performing certification authority activities per the military standard order (MSO) program
  • Experience conducting software reviews per Radio Technical Commission for Aeronautics (RTCA) DO-178 and DO-254
  • Experience conducting Airborne Electronic Hardware (AEH) reviews
  • Knowledge of Technical Standard Order program authorization processes and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations and guidance
  • Knowledge of RTCA DO-229 for equipment certification
  • Ability to be highly motivated, have a dynamic work ethic, and contribute to the DoD mission
  • Ability to communicate and establish collaborative relationships with government clients and contractor teammates
  • Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or Computer Science
  • 1+ years of experience with development or evaluating aviation software
  • 1+ years of experience performing certification authority activities per the military standard order (MSO) program
  • Experience reviewing and approving MSO functional data per MSO-C145b and DO-229
  • Experience reviewing certification plans and change impact analyses
  • Ability to develop issue papers and MSOA letters
  • Ability to develop MSO standards and guidance per MSO-C145
  • Possession of excellent interpersonal skills
  • Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Master's degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or Computer Science
