Associated Students, Inc. (ASI) is a non-profit organization at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, focused on enhancing student life. The Talent Acquisition Supervisor will oversee the candidate experience and recruitment process, ensuring an inclusive and efficient onboarding for new hires.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for supporting the recruitment, supervision, training, development, performance management, and guidance as needed to area personnel, setting goals, preparing evaluations of their performance, and cross-training to effectively work towards a cohesive, collaborative, and synergistic team of 8 Talent Acquisition Assistants
- Ensure assigned operations in the area are carried out in accordance with established policies and procedures based on organizational and department goals and progressive human-centered HR standards
- Manage the Talent Acquisition Assistant team to ensure that work is properly allocated and completed in a timely and accurate manner and guide overall priorities for the department area
- Provide assistance developing and providing oversight of the acquisition team to effectively screen candidates, lead inclusive interview teams, select top candidates in collaboration with the hiring manager/team, and provide effective and timely communication for candidate status and daily onboarding support
- Assist in oversight of the organizational onboarding process and applicable documentation in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, including, but not limited to, position offer, onboarding paperwork, and clear, timely communication
- Assist with the creation and continuous improvement of a seamless, engaging, and transparent candidate journey from application to the onboarding transition
- Assist with the design and implementation of acquisition strategies that actively promote diversity and inclusivity in the hiring process
- In collaboration with hiring managers, assists in analyzing current and future part-time staffing needs and acquisition timelines to ensure strategic talent acquisition
- In collaboration with key stakeholders, leverage acquisition metrics, including but not limited to time-to-fill, quality of hire, and source effectiveness, to assist in refining strategies and processes to support organizational needs
- Support the management of the university (CSUβs) student eligibility process and oversee that the required checks are completed
- Ensure proper Background Check procedures are followed according to policy and communicating any inconsistencies, discrepancies, or clearance issues to the Talent Acquisition Manager
- Assist in ensuring the initial reporting of EDD compliance
- Assist in oversight of the E-Verify process, compliance, records and any required communication to candidates, employees and management
- Manage onboarding administration for incoming staff; ensure timely processing of new employee documentation and transition to the employee experience team
- Assist with analyzing existing recruitment, onboarding, process and services for compliance and efficiency, making recommendations for change as needed
- Assist in the development, documentation, and implementation of standard operating procedures for the screening, candidate selection, and onboarding process, including human-centered best practices
- Collaborates with stakeholders, co-develops and provides oversight for the talent acquisition dashboards, reports, ensuring key organizational and departmental metrics are attained
- Collaborates with key stakeholders in providing oversight of historical records, current and future talent acquisition activities
- Collaborates with organizational and department/unit stakeholders with area/unit updates, process changes and cross-area/unit initiatives
- Assists in identifying acquisition-related themes through data and presents findings and recommendations for implementation
- In collaboration with stakeholders, oversee the development, maintenance, and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the talent acquisition area
- Assist with general HR inquiries, issues, and discrepancies from employees, managers, and administrators, as needed
- Maintains an inclusive environment by providing exceptional customer service for ASI staff, management, and candidates
- Actively stays updated on current screening, interviewing, and onboarding best practices and trends including compliance with all legal requirements
- Role model the behaviors of ASI core values, constantly challenging oneβs mental models as an active learner
- Attend all ASI required trainings, including but not limited to, annual all staff and department retreats
- Performs other related duties, as assigned
Skills
- 12 credit/units in Management and Human Resources (MHR), or equivalent
- Minimum of 6 months of experience in recruitment, acquisition, or onboarding
- Minimum of 1 year of leadership experience
- Minimum of 6 months of hands-on experience with an Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and internal HR databases
- Working knowledge of the inclusive practices in the full recruitment cycle from application to onboarding
- Working knowledge of human resources functions, procedures, and systems
- Experience within a university or nonprofit environment
