Trademark Paralegal

Irvine, CA – Remote

$100,000 – $120,000 The Trademark Paralegal will be part of the firm’s centralized IP Services team and will report to a Trademark Supervisor. This role provides comprehensive support to the trademark prosecution function across domestic and international matters.

    Trademark Paralegal Responsibilities:
  • Provide day-to-day support for trademark prosecution matters, including drafting, preparing, and filing trademark and copyright applications with the USPTO and WIPO.
  • Prepare and submit related prosecution documents such as assignments, office action responses, statements of use, affidavits of use, renewals, and other required filings, including TTAB oppositions and cancellations.
  • Coordinate with international agents on foreign trademark filings and related follow-up activities.
  • Communicate directly with clients regarding trademark status updates, deadlines, and procedural requirements.
  • Manage and process trademark files that are transferred into the firm.
  • Generate and maintain trademark prosecution reports, including docket and client status reports.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records by updating the IP docket and organizing correspondence and filings within the firm’s document management system.
  • Perform U.S. and international preliminary trademark searches using online resources and electronic databases; assist with reviewing search results and clearance-related issues.
  • Record billable time accurately in accordance with firm policies.
  • Monitor and stay informed on changes to trademark and intellectual property laws and procedures.
  • Deliver high-quality client service to both internal teams and external clients.
    Trademark Paralegal Requirements:
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent work experience, with at least 10 years of hands-on trademark and copyright prosecution experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of intellectual property rules and procedures across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Prior experience using IP docketing and prosecution management systems.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with attorneys, colleagues, and clients at all levels.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel) and document management platforms such as NetDocuments.
  • Flexibility to work overtime or weekends when business needs require.
