Job Description

Vital Design is an award-winning digital marketing agency headquartered in downtown Portsmouth, NH. They are seeking a Visual Designer who is passionate about design, capable of creating brand identities, and excited to work across a diverse range of clients and projects.

Responsibilities

Build and extend brand identities across digital and print
Develop visual systems that hold up across websites, social, paid media, pitch decks, and beyond
Concept and design responsive websites and landing pages with a strong UX sensibility
Create high-fidelity prototypes and collaborate directly with developers
Contribute original creative ideas for digital ad campaigns, social content, and integrated marketing efforts
Partner with strategists, copywriters, and the studio team to take concepts from napkin sketch to polished execution
Work alongside the studio team to ensure the visual direction translates beautifully into motion and video
Embrace AI as part of the creative workflow and push boundaries with it

Skills

Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or related field (or equivalent portfolio and experience)
1–2+ years of professional design experience, preferably with some agency exposure
Proficiency in Figma (our primary tool for digital) and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
Strong portfolio showing range across web design, brand identity, and digital marketing collateral
Solid understanding of UX principles, responsive design, and interaction patterns
Excellent communication skills — you can present and defend your design decisions
Familiarity with HTML/CSS and how designs translate to development is a plus
Motion design or animation skills are a plus but not required — you'll have a studio team for that
